The Holy Spirit is a person (not a human-being).
  • Person is defined as a being that has certain capacities or attributes such as reason, morality, consciousness or self-consciousness, and being a part of a culturally established form of social relations such as kinship, ownership of property, or legal responsibility.
  • The Holy Spirit is not a man, although the bible identifies him as a he.
  • The Holy Spirit is not a dove, neither does the bible describes him as a dove. In the gospels, it is written that the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus like a dove (meaning gently).

The Holy Spirit is God.
  • The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one [John 15:1, Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7-8; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 2 Corinthians 3:17].
  • Although they are one, there is a order within the Holy Trinity. The Father first, the Son (Jesus Christ) second, and the Holy Spirit third. To help you understand this better, think about a big fancy 3 tiered wedding cake. The wedding cake is one cake with 3 tiers.
  • The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, the Father and Jesus Christ, thus is also God.
