How to read the:O.T. vs N.T.

How to read the:O.T. vs N.T.

If you are reading this you're probably interested in understanding how to read the old testament, the new testament or the bible in general. I read the bible when I was a kid, and I wasn't aware that the covenant of grace even existed. It was not until my mid 20's that I understood that, I am under the covenant of grace, and that the covenant of grace/love fulfills the 10 commandments.

Holy Spirit
The best way to read the bible is by being a student of the Holy Spirit. If you read the bible daily, you will know that you'll never stop learning, because the word of God is truly alive and active. There are truths in the bible that will be hidden, until the Holy Spirit reveals it to you or, as you are diligently seeking the Lord, he will reward you with what you need to understand the bible (e.g. the gifts of the Holy Spirit).

Understanding Works vs Grace
I encourage you to read the post I wrote titled: Holy Spirit, Works vs Grace

I wish King James would have split up the bible by considering the O.T. to be before Jesus's resurrection in the N.T.  and the N.T. to be after Jesus's resurrection. I believe it would provided better clarity for those who are just getting into the word. Nevertheless, the word of God is perfect as it is, because it's literally the word of God.

Let's dive in! In this lovely chart are the promises that were made in each testament.

Acts 2:38
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. John 8:38-39
