4 Common Beliefs of Christians

I was looking for a way define the types of beliefs. I know that there are different types based upon my experience and the word of God but I didn't know how to categorize them and define them.  The four types of beliefs that I came up with based upon scripture are:

These are the 4 common beliefs of Christians:
1. Jesus is real [James 2:19
2. The words in the Bible are from God [Matthew 22:29
3. The promises in the bible are for us [2 Corinthians 1:20
4. Jesus is real, the words in the bible are from God, the promises in the bible are for us, and now I walk in what I believe. [Romans 1:16-17]

I did not feel like it was describing what I was trying to convey. So, I found LawrenceWilson.com website and he described it perfectly!

Credence
The first level of faith is credence, or a mental acceptance that the facts of the Christian story are true or real. This means believing that there really is a God, that Jesus Christ was literally born in a stable and raised from the dead. This first stage of faith has to do with facts.

Trust
The second stage of faith is reliance upon the character, ability, and integrity of God. This goes beyond saying, “Yes, I believe God exists” to saying, “I believe God loves me.” Christianity is an intensely personal religion, and our faith involves trusting the character of God.

Acceptance
The third stage of faith is acceptance, or agreeing to enter into a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. This is why we talk about the moment when a person “accepts Christ.” We believe that people must enter into a trust relationship with God, effectively tying their lives to his—just as you might do in a marriage or adoption.

Reliance
A fourth stage of faith is reliance, or depending on God in a practical way. As James wrote, “Faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” We believe that real faith will shape the way a person lives.

So, if I combined my definition of the 4 different beliefs with Lawrence Wilson's definition, it would look like this:
1. Jesus is real [James 2:19] - Credence
2. The words in the Bible are from God [Matthew 22:29] -  Trust
3. The promises in the bible are for us [2 Corinthians 1:20] - Acceptance
4. Jesus is real, the words in the bible are from God, the promises in the bible are for us, and now I walk in what I believe. [Romans 1:16-17Reliance

I wrote this post because when I was going through a trial and tribulation I kept thinking but I believe, how come my prayers are not being answered. I believe, why am I not seeing what I am believing for? What I failed to realize is that I had credence and trust but did not yet have acceptance and reliance which comes from the heart!
