Why do we read the bible?

This page will make more sense to those who have taken the Believers Training. In John 6:63-70 Jesus told the Pharisees that his words are spiritual which is why they had a hard problem understanding what he was saying.  When you read the word of God, you can read it in two ways and interpret it in two ways; spiritually or carnally. God is a Spirit, so his words in the bible are spiritual. You will never understand the bible or God or interpret the bible correctly if you are not reading it spiritually and with the Holy Spirit. Anyone can read the bible, but not everyone is able to understand it; that's intentional! It is to get you to depend on the Holy Spirit and Jesus. In Matthew 13:11,14,15, Jesus told his disciples why he spoke in parables….Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given . . . . And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, and seeing you will see and not perceive, for the heart of this people has grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their heart and turn, so that I should heal them
