Why was Jesus sent to earth?

Why was Jesus sent to earth?

"For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people." Hebrews 2:17

The intent behind this video/post is to help you to understand your authority and to also help you understand Jesus's authority. Meaning what Jesus cannot do as God, because of the command he has given mankind, verses what Jesus was able to do as the Son of God/David in his earthly body. Before we get started please watch these videos titled: Understanding Genesis Ch. 1-4, and Revelation Ch. 1-6, Submit to God before proceeding as it will help you understand this video/blog post.

God sent Jesus to earth for many reasons [e.g. forgiveness of sins, healing, deliverance, eternal life, grace, and authority, etc]. We are going to focus on authority. Before we can start to dive deep into understanding why the father would send Jesus on earth, as it pertains to authority...we have to understand how God intended mankind to live in the beginning.

The first sin Adam & Eve committed was disobedience. They were disobedient because God commanded them to take dominion over everything created on earth except other human beings. When Adam & Eve sinned they gave their authority to satan by not speaking the word of God at the time satan was deceiving them. From that time on satan became the ruler of the world as stated in John 12:31 and discussed in Matthew 4:1-15. The curse they received for disobedience was spiritual death.

The second sin they commited was that they ate from the tree. The curse they received from eating the tree can be found in Genesis 3:14-19, all three were cursed individually.

From the time Adam & Eve sinned to the time before Jesus's resurrection there was no way for God to get the authority back from satan and give it back to mankind; as Adam and Eve UNKNOWINGLY made a covenant with satan. They gave the authority God gave them, to satan. God had to establish a new covenant with mankind. The Holy Spirit could not reenter the world at that time without a physical body to be in, so that that human body could get mankind's authority back that Adam and Eve gave to satan. Remember Adam & Eve were spiritually dead due to their sin.

God the father decided to make a new covenant with mankind through Abraham. God tested Abraham to see if he would give up his son as a sacrifice for this new covenant, so that God could send his son and give up his son for the new covenant. By this covenant God made with Abraham, God was able to send his son, Jesus [born of a woman, as a man and not as God].

Israel was supposed to be an example to the rest of the corrupted world of how to live for God in his Kingdom. He wanted the Israelites to live how Adam & Eve lived before they sinned.

After Jesus resurrected he took back the authority that Adam & Eve gave satan to rule this world, by overcoming sin and death and then Jesus GAVE mankind authority again. In addition, he also made it a lot simpler for mankind to get their authority back should they accidently give it away. How? New birth!

Now you maybe wondering why would God the father go through all of this effort? The reason why God went through all of this effort is because he loves us and because unlike, mankind, God cannot lie. If he would have used his Godly authority to get the authority back from satan for mankind, instead of following the rules he set, then he would be breaking his covenant (agreement). It also means that satan could request to get a second chance, because God would have had to give mankind a second chance if God broke his own covenant. God is just!

"For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people." Hebrews 2:17

You'll notice that Jesus as the Son of Man/David did what humankind can now do through Jesus when they are not corrupted by sin. However, Jesus as God did not do what he commanded mankind to do.
