One can do good, but be in disobedience.
Mankind has this "good," person mindset that they cannot flee away from. Worldly people think because one accepts everyone and everything from every doctrine, and is kind to everyone that that person is a good person. If born-again believers think like that we are opposing Jesus Christ. Jesus did not come to the world to accept religious and worldly view points. Rather he came to the world to deliver people from themselves. So when people ask, why do "good" people die? Why does xyz happen to "good," people? I wonder if the born-again believer asking the question understand the word of God, and if whether the person that they are calling a good person, is good in the eyes of man or if they are considered good in the eyes of God.

Someone deemed to be "good" by mankind's standards, can be in disobedience to God and be evil in God's sight.

1 Samuel 15:22 The troops took sheep and cattle from the plunder, the best of the things devoted to destruction, in order to sacrifice them to the LORD your God at Gilgal.” But Samuel declared:“Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, and attentiveness is better than the fat of rams. For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance is like the wickedness of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you as king."

Romans 5:6-8 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?

My example:Jesus told me to Shepherd his people and teach his people how to live for him. I was disobedient for three months. I was tithing, I wanted to stay in corporate america so that I can make more money and continue to tithe and give to the poor. From a worldly standpoint what I wanted to do was noble. However, from God's standpoint it was disobedience and my sacrifice, giving, etc meant nothing because of the disobedience.
