What to do if you heard from God and what God told you did not come to pass!

What to do if you heard from God and what God told you did not come to pass!

If you asked God for a specific question and you believe in your heart that God gave you an answer such as "it will happen," and then it never happened you may have the urge to give up which will result in depending on yourself to get the job done. I get it, trust me, I've been there! The very first thing we have to do is always take Romans 3:4 to heart "Let God be true and every man a liar".

If God really did speak to you [e.g. said something will happen by next week], and it never came to pass [e.g. that something did not happen during the specific time frame] it's because:
  1. You did not believe in your heart, although you may have believed in your mind [Hebrews 11:6].
  2. You're not walking in love [Ephesians 5:6]. Your faith will not work without love, love is a choice and not a feeling.
Hebrews 6:18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.

If the two doesn't apply then that means God really did not speak to you, instead you heard yourself. Please read the post titled "7 Important Tips to Help You Communicate with God Better."
What are the 6 signs that you did not hear God, instead you heard yourself or the enemy?
  1. You are not born-again [Without being born again, you cannot obey God
  2. You do not read the word of God daily [How are you going to know how God speaks to you, if you don't actually speak to him?]
  3. You do not speak to God daily  [How are you going to know how God speaks to you, if you don't actually speak to him?]
  4. There wasn't at least one confirmation of what God told you if you asked him a question that cannot be found in the bible[1 John 5:8, Matthew 18:16, Deuteronomy 19:15, 2 Corinthians 13:1, 1 Timothy 5:19, Hebrews 10:28, Deuteronomy 17:6]
  5. You do not submit to the word of God by doing what it tells you to do [James 4:7]
  6. You do not resist the devil by using the word of God [James 4:7]
