Seeking Acceptance? Don't Do It!

Seeking Acceptance? Don't Do It!

When we do anything for Christ it should be done because the Holy Spirit led us to do so (Jesus's will for our life) and it should be done in love (1 Corinthians 16:14). I asked the Holy Spirit to help me word this teaching because I don't want any of my videos or post to be divisive towards the body of Christ. I believe in love and unity in truth (the word and the Spirit). I purposely comment on ministries Youtube page, whether small or large ministries, among churches around the world to show support. We are one body, even if we have millions of church buildings, with different non-profits. We are not enemies born-again believers. When one person enters into the Kingdom of God, whether at ANJWC Church or a church around the world, we should all rejoice. We shouldn't let the stats, popularity, finances, and worries blind us from what's important. Church is not corporate America, it's the Kingdom of God.

If we are seeking acceptance, don't do it! When I was newly born-again, God told me about all of these great promises, and plans that he had for my life. I never had dreams and desires of being on the pulpit preaching/teaching, never wanted to be in ministry. I never wanted to be a pastor's/preachers wife. I don't care about having a large church, at all! I've had to overcome my feelings of not wanting to be in ministry. Since, I want what God wants, I've chosen ministry and the promotion he has given me. With that being said, I don't care about being known in the body of Christ. I don't have ministry goals of having a mega-church. If it happens it's because it is God's will for my life, and I chose God's will over my own comfort. I believe that my ministry is already large, my ministry is my life, not ANJWC Church. So, not being "worthy" of being heard, because I haven't reached harvest yet, doesn't bother me. On our journey with Christ if we are seeking acceptance before we become a house-hold figure (well-known), we're in for a rude awakening. Our brothers and sisters in Christ, that we must choose to show mercy, will often judge our life based upon our circumstances during the seasons of soil, sowing, and rain.

When we read Matthew 7:17-20 we know that the season of harvest is an indication of our obedience to the word, not the seasons of soil, seasons of sowing, and the seasons of rain. Jesus tells us in Matthew 7: 17-20 "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them." The word bear let's us know that Jesus is speaking about the season of harvest, and what we harvest will let the world know if we sown good fruits or bad.

Common Comments:
  • I have been told that I am not in the will of God because I've been through trials and tribulations due to lack (It's interested how these same people think a sick believer can be in the will of God, but a broke person cannot). I've been told this more than other comment listed.
  • Although I tell matured believers about God's calling for my life, and ANJWC Church they still don't see me as being a pastor because I don't have a church building.
  • I am a woman, so I should not be in the five-fold!

At some point you'll learn that it doesn't matter what people say. It matters what God says, and your obedience to what he says. We cannot serve the body of Christ, and preach to the world if we are in bondage to our feelings of them, if we are in bondage to how they treat us, and what they do not and do not do for us. One of the lessons I learned during my season of the refiners fire, is how to stay free from bondage by submitting to the word of God. We are to love our enemies, pray for those who persecute us; In other words we are to show mercy regardless of xyz. Yawl, I am so free of people and that allows me to be obedient to God, and serve those people who persecute me. I had to learn how to love through disagreements, and how to remain free from offense.

No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world. For even his own brothers did not believe in him. Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do. John 7:4-6
