#3 Gifts that come through the manifestation of the Holy Spirit
In 1 Corinthians 12:7 Paul tells us that the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. From reading verse 11 we know that the Holy Spirit distributes the gifts of the Holy Spirit to us, as he wills. In the video/blog we are going to discuss the difference between gifts and gifts given according to grace & faith below. First let's start with gifts of the Holy Spirit which manifest in born-again believers.

"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills." 1 Corinthians 12:1-12

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:26-31

A gift of the Holy Spirit will always be spiritual and when the Holy Spirit begins to manifest [become detectable] in a born-again believer these gifts will be prevalent. These gifts can be split up into 3 categories.

The gifts of revelation are:
1. Wisdom - This is a supernatural revelation of wisdom [wise judgement]
2. Knowledge - This is a supernatural revelation of knowledge [knowing something without foreknowledge]
3. Discerning of spirits - This is a supernatural revelation of seeing all kinds of spirits [e.g. demons and angels]

The gifts of doing [also known as the power gifts] are:
1. Healing -This gift will allow you to heal others when the Spirit is in manifestation inside of you
2. Miracles -This gift will allow you to performs miracles when the Spirit is in manifestation inside of you. Note: There is a difference between healing and miracles. A miracle is making something appear that was not there. For instance, someone getting healed from HIV is healing. However, someone who was born without an arm and their arm appearing is a miracle.
3. Faith -This gift will allow you to believe for anything when the Spirit is in manifestation inside of you

The gift of speech are:
1. Tongues - These tongues build the individual up according to 1 Corinthians 14:4.
2. Interpretation of tongues - This is being revealed to the receiver of the gift through the Holy Spirit. It doesn't come by have had studied languages at college.
3. Prophecy - When this gift is in manifestation according to 1 Corinthians 14:3 the message will always be to speak to believers for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.

Is there a difference between discernment and the gift of discerning of spirits? Yes!
Discernment: In 1 John 4:1 John tells us "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." This means that all believers are supposed to have discernment. It would be impossible for us to test the spirits without discernment, because the reason we are testing the spirit is to see if it's evil or good. This discernment is dependent on renewal of your mind in the word of God. In Romans 12:2 Paul tells us "and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. With this discernment we are testing the spirits according to what is written in the word of God. Discernment doesn't have spiritual revelation.

Next we are going to discuss wisdom and knowledge. The bible tells us in all your getting, get understanding. Understanding is needed for both wisdom and knowledge. In November 2018 I was crying out to the Lord because I had doubt and fear about what he told me to do. I was tired of choosing to doubt and fear. I said your word says your people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, therefore, I am confessing that I am preserved because I have knowledge. Then he said that he has given me understanding. To be transparent, I was a little confused on the fact that I was seeking knowledge, but God, my father was speaking to me about understanding. I get it now, I didn't need more knowledge because I knew what he wanted me to do in that situation because he told me. What I did not have is understanding.

Is there a difference between wisdom and the gift of wisdom? Yes!
Godly wisdom that is not the gift of wisdom is given by the Lord to all born-again believers through knowing and understanding the word of God according to Proverbs 2:6 "For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." In James 1:5, James tells us "if any [speaking to born-again believer] lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach and it will be given him." From reading this we know that all believers are expected to have Godly wisdom, whether they have the gift of wisdom or not and that Godly wisdom is given by the Lord through knowing and understanding the word of God. By reading Psalm 111:10 we know that we can put Godly wisdom into practice it reads "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. Proverbs 14:33 says that wisdom rest in the heart of him who has understanding. In order to have wisdom rest in our heart, we need understanding. In other words, in order to be wise, we have to understand the word of God. Wisdom comes from our heart [spirit] and it stays as long as we have understanding. Wisdom of God that comes from our heart [spirit] will also impact our soul according to Proverbs 24:13-14 "My son, eat honey because it is good, and the honeycomb which is sweet to your taste; So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; if you have found it, there is a prospect, and your hope will not be cut off." Godly wisdom will always be pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy, full of good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy according to James 3:17.

From this we know wisdom comes from knowledge and understanding of the word of God, and that wisdom should be practiced, and when practiced it is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy, full of good fruits, and without partiality and hypocrisy.

Is there a difference between knowledge and the gift of knowledge? Yes
Like, wisdom, knowledge that is not the gift of knowledge is given by the Lord to all born-again believers through knowing and understanding the word of God according to Proverbs 2:6 "For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. In Hosea 4:6-7 The father says "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because they have rejected knowledge, and thus he has rejected them from being a priest to him." From this we know that a believer can choose to accept or reject the knowledge of God. Proverbs 15:14, says "the heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness." From reading this we know that understanding comes from the heart [spirit], and when we have understanding we will seek knowledge. In both 1 Timothy 2:4 and 2 Timothy 3:7, Paul speaks about the knowledge of the truth.

From this we know that knowledge comes from understanding the word of God, and that knowledge of God should not be rejected even if it makes us feel uncomfortable. The knowledge of God is the word of God.

Is there a difference between faith, and the gift of faith? Yes
Faith that is not a gift from the Holy Spirit is dependent on hearing the word of God. In Romans 10:17 Paul tells us "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." This faith is given to every born again believer. We know this by reading Romans 12:3, Paul tells us "For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you." By this we know that all born-again believers are given a measure of faith, and we have the choice to grow that faith given to us.

Is there a difference between tongues and the gift of tongues? Yes
Tongues that is not a gift from the Holy Spirit requires a person to be born-again and requires the Holy Spirit to give them the utterance to speak these tongues. In Acts 2:36-39 it reads "Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" Paul continues to say in Acts 2:4 "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance." These tongues when spoken, is as the Spirit gives the utterance, and these tongues may sound like the gift of tongues but the difference is when these tongues are spoken those listening, may hear those who are speaking these tongues, in their own language speaking the wonders of God. We know this by reading Acts 2:5-15. It reads in verse 6, that everyone heard THEM speak in HIS OWN language. In other words each onlooker heard the 120 speaking in his own language, and the other person next to the onlooker heard the 120 speaking in his own language [click here to watch an example of what I am referencing]. All tongues are for non-believers according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:22. One additional way that we know that there is a difference between the gift of tongues and tongues is that in 1 Corinthians 14:2 Paul tells us "For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. In Acts 2:5-15 the tongues the disciples spoke that was given to them by the utterance of the Holy Spirit, men were able to understand.

Is there a difference between healing, healing by anointing and the gift of healing through manifestation of the Holy Spirit? Yes
Gift of healing through manifestation of the Holy Spirit
In Acts 9:31-35 the Holy Spirit manifest in Peter to heal Aeneas. "Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied. Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda. There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed. Then he arose immediately. So all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord."

Gift of healing by the gifts that are people [the five-fold] who are called/anointed for the church
We read in Mark 5:25-33,Luke 8:40-48 "Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well. Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth." In Acts 5:12-16 we read that Peter is called to be an Apostle and anointed to heal. "Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon's Portico. None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed." In Acts 19:10-13 Paul was in the office of the Apostle and we read "This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord. God did extraordinary miracles through Paul,  so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.

Gift of grace & faith for the healing of non-believers:
We have been commissioned by God to heal the sick, cleanse those with leprosy and cast out demons according to Matthew 10:8. You do not need the gift of healing to do this. You just need faith, know your identity, authority, and power which all born-again believers have in the name of Jesus.

Gift of grace & faith for healing for born-again believers:
Healing that is not a gift from the Holy Spirit has been given to us over 2,000 years ago when Jesus Christ resurrected, we simply have to believe the word of God over the natural. In 1 Peter 2:24 Peter tells us "He himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; "by his wounds you have been healed." The hindrance to not receiving this healing, is if you are not dead to sin and not living for righteousness.
