Our identity: Before we get started, it's important to mention that when Jesus Christ was on earth physically he was all five-leadership gifts to the church; according to Ephesians 4:1-16 when Jesus ascended into heaven, he split his leadership gifts into five gifts and gave these gifts to the church for the purpose of equpping saints, unity and maturity. Is the body of Christ unified and matured? Then we still have a need for apostles, and prophets. Typically, the body of Christ understand the need for evangelist, teachers, and pastors, so I don't have to explain the need for those offices. Now that we know that Jesus Christ was all five while living on earth, we should also know that the Holy Spirit is all five as well. With this being said technically no one is an apostle, no one is a prophet, no one is a teacher, no one is a pastor, and no one is an evangelist. However, there are people in this world who are gifts to the church who stand in those offices on behalf of Jesus Christ. Jesus needs human vessels to work through, as we live in a physical world. An office in the five-fold is not who those who are in the five-fold leadership are. Rather, they only stand in those offices for Jesus Christ, when needed, after they've been called and anointed. Our identity is not the office that we stand in. Around July of 2019 the Holy Spirit revealed this to me, and that's why I stopped introducing myself as Pastor of ANJWC Church. I am not a pastor; although I stand in the office of a pastor. However, what I am is a child of God.
How this came about...
What is a teacher?
Definition: Someone with authority to speak the words of God to nation(s).
  • Exodus 7:1 "Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet."
  • Amos 3:7 Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan
  • to his servants the prophets.
  • Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.
Btw according to Luke 2:36 women can be prophets "There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,"

Apostles, Prophets, and Teachers will be judged more strictly:
  • 1 Corinthians 12:28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.
  • Revelation 18:20 “Rejoice over her, you heavens! Rejoice, you people of God! Rejoice, apostles and prophets! For God has judged her with the judgment she imposed on you.”
  • James 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
What is the difference between a false and true teacher?
  • The fruit they bare: According to Matthew 24:24, Matthew 7:15, we can see that false prophets will also have an ability to perform great signs and wonders, as the magicians were able to do during the days of Moses in Exodus, read Exodus 7:22. BTW, according to Deuteronomy 34:10-12 was a prophet, and if back then they had an office of an apostle, he would have been one. Thus, a false prophet is not necessarily someone who speaks presumptuously but someone who doesn't bear the spiritual fruit of love inside of them. Deuteronomy 18:18-22 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him. I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name. But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.” You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
Requirement for a five-fold leader to be promoted to be a teacher?
  • Be appointed into an office Ephesians 4:11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,
  • Boldness Jeremiah 35:15 Again and again I sent all my servants the prophets to you. They said, “Each of you must turn from your wicked ways and reform your actions; do not follow other gods to serve them. Then you will live in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you have not paid attention or listened to me. Isaiah 30:10 They say to the seers,“See no more visions!” and to the prophets, “Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusion.
  • Suffering & Persecution James 5:8-10 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Suffering is defined as "
the state of undergoing pain, distress, or hardship." Patient is defined as able to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
  • Being able to take strong discipline from God. It's his way to protect our soul. Jeremiah 1:17-19 “Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them. Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. Numbers 20:11-12 Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.” 2 Corinthians 12:6-8 Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.  Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
"Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good," - 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21
    What do all teachers have?
    • The ability to interpret visions and dreams Numbers 12:6 he said, “Listen to my words: “When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.
    • Partner with the angels of God Revelation 22:6 “The angel said to me, These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”
    • Higher level of revelation given to them Ephesians 3:3-6 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
    • Able to control their spirit (heart) 1 Corinthians 14:30-33 The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.
    • Hear from God Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.
    Levels of Teachers
For every office in the five-fold, there is a level. The higher the level, the more you live like Jesus Christ. Not all ministers of God are on the same level, spiritually speaking. Just because a ministry is large doesn't mean their teaching/preaching is matured content. Just because someone has been a minister of the word for 40+ years doesn't mean their teaching/preaching is matured. However, it can be Godly; it can be accurate but perhaps they have a basic understanding, and that's fine. We need ministers to preach and teach at all levels. Thus the following is true:
    • There will never be an prophet like Jesus Christ. Why? Jesus Christ is Lord
    • There will never be a prophet like the prophets in the old testament. Why? New dispensation.
What is the difference between a teacher before Jesus's time on earth and after Jesus's time on earth?
    • Luke 13:32-34 He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’ In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!
    • Hebrews 1:1-2 [Prophets under the new dispensation, play a different rule under the Law of Moses/Covenant of Grace]  In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways,  but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
